Durankulak is on the main coastal road, E87, which runs north to the Romanian border. It is just 7 km from the border. The airport at Varna is approx 100 km south of Durankulak.  Cheap car hire is available and is recommended for those that wish to take full advantage of the local attractions. Otherwise, airport pick-up can be arranged for a very reasonable price.
